The St. George Island center point is about 7 miles southeast of Up The Creek Raw Bar and 7 miles east of George E Weems Memorial Hosp.
Below are reviews of the city of St. George Island, FL from an actual visitor's perspective.
St. George was OK. There wasn't a lot going on on the island which was very nice. Seems like it's a better place for people who like to fish.
The remote feeling. Not commercialized. The Buckner Inn on St. George Island at the reasonable rates in my opinion is still a well kept secret. It's kind of beach with less music layering, less partying and drinking and more family oriented with just a peaceful sound of the beach waves and the buildings higher than three story
Beautiful, quiet, great places to eat!
I appreciate the old-style feel of the hotel. The ceramic tile in the bathrooms and the layout of the rooms. Reminds me of the hotels I stayed in when traveling with my parents in the 70's. Modern updates are great but sometimes that retro feel is nice. All of our items worked: fridge, AC, coffee maker.
Local food establishments pretty good, some sightseeing available, lighthouse and state park area, excellent beaches!
Great place to visit and stay!
