I have always loved Maquoketa. I worked there in the family business from the time I was a sophomore in high school until a freshman in college. I am 73 now and still find Maquoketa delightful.
Small town with Midwest charm and feel. Main Street for local food options; I.e. Main Street Cafe we highly recommend (bring cash). Additionally, spent free time at Maquoketa Caves State Park for a great hike to explore nature's beauty.
