The town of New Canaan is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and is known for its natural beauty, luxury homes, and excellent schools. New Canaan is a part of Connecticut's Gold Coast -  opulent districts of Western Connecticut that are home to a number of wealthy business executives. The town is home to some of the most beautiful parks and nature preserves in the area, including Waveny Park. Definitely carve out some time to take a walk around Waveny Park's open space. The park is also home to several cultural attractions: The PowerHouse Performing Arts Center and the Carriage Barn Arts Center.The Carriage Barn Arts Center is a non-profit organization run by the New Canaan Society of the Arts. The organization first appeared back in 1895 with a mission to educate and enrich the local community with various forms of art. However, at some point, the NCSA disappeared for almost 80 years. In 1977 a group of committed local volunteers decided to re-establish the Society and make a 100-year-old building of Waveny Estate into their new home. That's how the CBAC was born. The structure houses a diverse collection of 20th century paintings and sculptures, and actively advocates for inclusive and truthful representation, preservation, and re-imagining of historic structures and artifacts.And, of course, New Canaan is known for its top-notch infrastructure. The town has a lovely walkable downtown where you'll find an array of five-star restaurants, peculiar local shops, and high-end boutiques.
