The President Hotel, built in 1926, was host to many elegant dinners, business meetings and events. It is again the place to stay! The Drum Room opened in 1941 and famous people such as Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Sammy Davis Jr., Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, The Marx Brothers, The Great Houdini and Patsy Kline all performed here during their careers.
The Hotel has been redesigned from the brick walls except for the historic rooms. The original 453 room hotel now has 213 spacious guest rooms to include 5 Suites and 21 Junior Suites, all equipped with modern amenities. The Lobby and Congress Ballroom have been restored to their appearance in 1941. The Aztec, Walnut and Drum rooms have been restored close to the original.
The Hotel offers approximately 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. A stunning 4,500 square foot Ballroom (Congress) located on the 12th floor with ceiling to floor windows provides a breath taking view of Kansas City. The Aztec Room is 1,400 square feet and is known for its unique style and design. In addition, there are 6 meeting rooms and a Board Room ranging from 330 to 575 square feet.
