The Historic Brook Forest Inn ~ Spa, in its early days, was known as the elite destination by many Denverites. They often traveled the thirty-five miles by horse and buggy. Some of the elite included President Harry S. Truman, Liberace, Molly Brown, the Boecher’s and many others. As a result of the many worldly stories, legend has it that there were secret meetings of Nazi gatherings, gold hidden in the walls and ghosts of a stable hand and a chamber maid. There have been many sightings of the ghosts on the third floor over the years. The current owners uncovered a hidden room during restorations and can also share their own personal ghostly experiences.
The Historic Brook Forest Inn ~ Spa is in the very heart of scenic and Historic Colorado. The trail to 14,260 feet high Mt. Evans originally started here. The Inn was also the main post office for the area effective November 10, 1921.
