We had 3 rooms for a Mother's Day weekend mini family gathering including 92 year old grandfather who wanted to visit Pt Reyes and Muir Woods. We felt AAA rate of $144 was very reasonable and included a plentiful breakfast. Our room with 2 queen beds was large, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed walking/running on the nearby bike path. On Friday night we drove about 15 minutes to the Pelican Inn at Muir beach for dinner. The food was okay and the experience was fun. On Saturday we drove Sir Francis Drake Blvd to Point Reyes visitor center, then on to the fog enshrouded light house and over to enjoy the Elephant Seal overlook (very crowed with seals!) Headed to the little town of Point Reyes Station for lunch and quickly decided on Osteria Stellina. It was almost 2:30 and they were about to close their lunch service but they welcomed us in. After lunch we drove Hwy 1 to Muir Woods. It was very crowded and no parking available so we dropped Granddad and a couple of other family members and let them visit for an hour. That night we enjoyed dinner at the Italian restaurant, Frantoio which is connected to the hotel. The next morning we drove 20 minutes over Golden Gate Bridge to one of our favorite walks in San Francisco, Land's End. Unfortunately it was cold and foggy so no views of the bridge. Ended up having an early lunch at nearby Seal Rock Inn - a great little diner with excellent service and reasonably priced food. It was a great weekend getaway and the Holiday Inn was the perfect place to stay. « less

We had 6 rooms for 12 people running in a 199 mile relay race. The hotel has had a number of different owners over the years, is situated close to CA 101 but without the noise and directly on the Mill Valley Sausalito Multipurpose path. The staff is helpful and accomodating, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast filling and hot. It is directly connected to a nice Italian restaurant and bar and one block on a beautiful salt marsh path to the famous Dipsea Cafe. There is also free internet. If there is a complaint it is that the rooms haven't been updated in several years and thus are dark. Minor complaint though given the reasonable price and convenience. « less

Great job here under new management. Very comfortable environment, and can't beat price. This was a 1 night stop for us on our way to Napa and location was perfect to gain quick access to Muir Woods, Sausalito, Tiburon and Golden Gate Rec area. Nice pool area and rooms were good enough for what we needed, but most importantly the beds were AWESOME. Very comfortable mattresses, which is always a roll of dice in hotel stays. Front desk service and attention also excellent. « less

This place is awesome. While just a few hundred yards off the freeway, we were never bothered by the news. My kids (ages 10 and 7) always like to have a pool to play in. The pool was big, heated and open until 10:00pm. Arriving at 8 after being in the car for 3 hours, it was great to let them burn energy. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. For sights, it was about 10 min to the Muir Woods and about 25 min to San Francisco. If you're looking for a good value with a family near San Francisco, this place fits the bill. While we didn't have time to use it, the hotel said they had free bikes to borrow to go on the bike path next to the hotel. « less
