We stayed here 2 years ago when our grandson was born at UPenn. This time we stayed to attend a wedding. What wonderful improvements! The staff were attentive and very friendly. The room was beautiful. Even the famous Sheraton bed seemed refreshed and even more comfortable (if that is possible). We were apprehensive about staying here due to the poor reviews. Yes, we are Starwood members and stayed on the Club Floor but everything seemed brand new. Sheraton's Downtown is still our favorite hotel in Philadelphia but University City is definitely a close second. « less

I stayed two nights for business travel. The hotel is very close to Penn and convenient to many shops and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious. My only complaint is that there was no frig or microwave in the room. I have stayed in many lowered priced hotels that provide such amenities. That said, the staff were pleasant, parking was easy (although not inexpensive) and the property felt safe and well cared for. I would stay again if returning to the area. « less
