From my point of view, the strength of the Embassy Suites branded hotels is predictability, comfortability, and reliability.
The Embassy Suites Dupont Circle scores high on all counts.
You don't stay at an ES to find a boutique hotel experience. And you won't find it here. But you will find here, in a neighborhood filled with boutique hotels, a very reliable expression of the Embassy Suites brand.
The ES Dupont Circle rates extra points for cleanliness and attentiveness by staff. They served well without being obtrusive. Particularly impressive was staff who, from housekeepers to night guards, repeatedly asked how they could assist or if I had any unmet need. Oh, and the orderliness and cleanliness maintained during the Managers Reception and Atrium Breakfast is unusually strong. Frankly, some ES Receptions and Breakfasts bear an unfortunate resemblance to the feedlots we have out here in the Midwest. This location uses careful management and attentive staffing to avoid the crush/rush. Kudos.
(Not to mention that, at least in my opinion, bonus points are deserved for serving both hot oatmeal and also hot grits on the breakfast buffet.)
Finally, as pointed out by others, this property is easily accessible to the rest of the city by metro or cab -- or just plain walking.
Bottom line, I can't imagine that if you would be satisfied by any Embassy Suites, that you wouldn't be more than rewarded with a comfortable and reliable stay at the ES Dupont Circle. « less

This is the first Embassy Suites we have stayed at & it was amazing!! The location is great. Not too far away from the metro & within walking distance of attractions such as the White House. There is a free breakfast buffet every morning which has a fair selection of items & also a free managers reception 5.30-7.30 every evening, This provides guests with free alcoholic drinks & snacks (tortilla chips & dips). The only grumpy member of staff we saw was the girl serving the drinks at the bar. She was really unpleasant so we didn't go back to the reception for the rest of our stay. We think that George is a legend!! He goes out of his way to help in any way he can. He was definitely a highlight of this hotel. Rooms are cleaned every day. Beds are to die for!! « less

This hotel is the perfect location for people wanting to see what DC has to offer. Located a short walk to many attractions, the metro or bus tours. The room was in good shape, clean with an excellent bed and pillows. Complimentary water was chilled for our arrival. Front desk staff were helpful, as was the Concierge, however there never seemed to be enough staff at the front desk, so therefore line-ups were unavoidable. Both the buffet breakfast and Manager's reception were well stocked with both food and attendants. Really enjoyed the different 'special' evening cocktails. The cooked to order breakfast location did create a traffic jam. Management had posted 'traffic' signs for when it was the lightest traffic for breakfast, and when to expect a back up. It was most helpful. The atrium area temperature is very chilly. Make sure you plan on this for breakfast especially. The General Manager greeted us one morning while having breakfast. He was most genuine in asking about us, our stay and how we generally enjoyed DC. It was a nice touch. The fitness centre was a nice size with a variety of equipment to enjoy any kind of a workout. Really enjoyed the free wifi in the lobby. What a nice treat! « less

They have an automatic fan/air system that is triggered when you enter your suite. The entire time you are in there, air is blowing out of the vents. My first night the air conditioning was on, so I had to sleep with air conditioning blowing on me all night when I slept, even though it was a cool night. The next night maintenance turned off the air conditioning but couldn't stop the fan from blowing. « less

We immediately felt like we made the right decision when we were greeted by the desk clerk. Staff was extremely helpful by giving us all the info we needed to set out on excursions in the DC area. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Best complimentary breakfast ever experienced at a hotel. Embassy Suites exceeded my expectations by a mile. Keep up the great work. « less
