We stayed in this hotel because of a group event. The rooms were normal average Marriott rooms - nothing amazing but nothing to aweful. The front desk staff need some serious training. They could not identify the closest Mexican restaurant, there was absolutely nothing except for nuts in the conveneince shop. Parking is free. « less

I would love to rate this place 3.5 stars but can't seem to push it to 4. For the price, I've stayed at nicer hotels in VA. The rooms weren't anything special but still clean. CSR were polite though when my complimentary Wifi for the first 12 hrs failed, they didn't offer me another trial. Ergo I didn't purchase the wifi - and 4G on AT&T this weekend was abysmal. Breakfast is good. The bar is good though my $16 glass of wine was stale - and when asked how it was, they graciously offered me another glass but I didn't want another drink (to keep my senses, lol). I'd stay there again of their wifi was free and worked. « less

I have never had any complaints about this property until now. The concierge room was always excellent, the restaurant was fine for breakfast, the staff very accommodating and I used to really love the pool area. But on my most recent stay over Easter, I was very disappointed to find the whirlpool literally filled in and replaced with tropical plants. Gone! Filled in! I stayed here early in March and had a fine stay, at the end of March, no more whirlpool. I wish I had known this change was coming but now the pool area is just not the same. If you enjoy a relaxing hot tub, you won't find one here. I have registered my complaints with the one of the managers and I am told the whirlpool is gone for good. I am seriously considering dropping this place from my list of places to day in Richmond. Very disappointing change for this hotel... « less
