We booked a weekend at the George, another Kimpton, and were sorely disappointed the manager, Clayton Smith, was the best. I told him we had sated in several Kimptons in DC and he said he would take care of it. In 5 minutes he had us rebooked in the Palomar, at which we have stayed several times and really like. When we got to the Palomar the front desk, which is always great, was even better. Cornelia Brown checked us in, got us wine vouchers for the reception we had missed and put us in a wonderful P Street facing room. We look forward to coming back! « less

Just spent a most enjoyable visit once again at the Palomar in DC. We had an amazing two room suite with a fabulous bath complete with jetted soaking tub and huge walk in shower, marble floors and very spacious! We loved the openness and how we were able to spend extra time together while getting clean and grooming...:). Everything was near perfect. Love the wine hour! Housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating! The front desk staff are very poised and good at their work. Special mention goes to Mark. We enlisted his help on dinner reservations. We described specific preferences and he matched us up to a T at Sequoia Restaurant. It was a wonderful dining experience! Thank you Mark!!! « less

I was excited about the Palomar in DC, but we were ultimately disappointed in our stay. The room was large and pretty clean when we arrived, but a housekeeper came in a few minutes after we arrived because she had forgotten to put a liner on our shower. The front-desk service that we received throughout our 4 nights/5 days ranged from being rather brusque & unhelpful to some very polite people, particularly on the evening shifts. The wine & cheese hour was a nice touch, except that the wine was terrible & the accompanying food was just average. I wouldn't return, the price tag was too high for the value that we received. It also makes me wary of the Palomar brand for other trips. Finally, the location was not nearly as convenient as we would have liked...the Dupont Circle metro was a good 7 min. walk away, and difficult to find if you weren't familiar with this area. « less

I attended a conference and Hotel Palomar was close enough -great hotel, the executive king room was very spacious and well appointed. We requested a microwave in the room for our stay and the staff was very helpful, the microwave arrived 10 minutes after our request. The only downside was the bed, the mattress was too firm for our taste, but this is a matter of taste, I guess. We had coffee in the morning in the lobby (and free refills:) , a lifesaver ! « less

We were attending a conference at the Marriott, Wardman Park. That hotel was overbooked. I chose the Palomar because of the great reviews I read on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. It was an easy 10 minute cab ride to our conference, or you can opt for the metro. The executive king was very large and comfortable, spacious bathroom and comfy desk. We joined Kimpton in Touch, which gave us free internet access. There's free coffee in the lobby in the morning. We were not there for the cocktail hour. « less
