We found this location was great to walk to everything in the area.. Just a few blocks from Dealy plaza and the Sixth floor museum. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Felt safe walking, even at night. The hotel is older, but our room was very clean and comfortable, even though we had the sink in our bedroom. Been a while since I've seen that. Staff was friendly and helpful. We did valet our car, and they parked it across the street in a lot. Someone keyed it during the night, which was not nice, and hotel would not take responsibility for it. That's the chance you take in a city location. Breakfast the next am was filling, but routine. « less

These suites are excellent value for money. The decor and furnishings are not on the luxury scale but the bed was comfortable, everything was clean and everything worked as it should.
Bonuses were the free WIFI, coffee machine, microwave and fridge as well as iron, ironing board and hairdryer.
The free breakfast and afternoon snacks were a welcome addition particularly for those with families. All members of staff were friendly, helpful and professional and helped make it a very pleasant stay. « less

I recently stayed 2 nights in this hotel for INTA meeting this year. It is particularly at good locaton due to its closeness to the World Aquarium and Perlot Museum, as well as the local DART line. The historical West End area is also just around the corner, where you may enjoy visiting Wild Bill's shop for a purchase of wonderful cowboy hats or boots ! Unfortunately I was given a room at 6th floor facing a 5 floo building with a big climatization installation at its roof, and the noise of this installatation was unbearable and non-stop. Also the air conditioning in the room seems to be so old and is so noisy, you would definitely not want to have same work for even more thn 10 minutes. The breakfast, although included in the price is poor. I was definitely negatively affected by the use of plastic dishes in a hotel for breakfast, which I have paid nearly USD 130.- per day ! The room was spacy and confortable as well as clean. Nevertheless this hotel would not be my first choise next time... « less

The staff was extremely friendly and hospitable! There was a good continental breakfast, along with a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. There was good water pressure in the shower also. However, we were put in a handicap room and counter space by the sink was pretty well extinct! There was no lid on the toilet either and for people with short legs, it was a stretch to sit on. There was not much variety on the TV and the actual stations did not match what was listed in the hotel guide. The decorations were average. The location was very good if you wanted to see the historic part of Dallas. Everything here was in easy walking distance. However, because it was in the historic section, it was also close to a little more run down section of the city. The parking at the hotel was quite expensive, but you could park your car across the street for about a quarter of the price. « less

If you are a fan of AMC's show Mad Men, this Springhill Suites is made for you! We stayed here on a recent trip to Dallas and this isn't the typical Springhill Suites at all... I've seen several iterations of their decor as is has evolved over the years, but this one has missed this evolution. We had two rooms, a King and a King Executive and both were very comfortable, large, and clean, although the decor had a 1960s contemporary look. Not bad, just different. Beds were really good although Ill never understand why hotels dont use king pillows on king beds. The staff was very nice, especially Henry who took care of the valet parking ( recommended at $20.00 a night. Other parking is a self pay lot across the street) and the breakfast was first rate for the free variety with waffles, oatmeal, eggs and sausage, and various fruit and breads. Although we usually stay in North Dallas, this location is very good if you are needing to be downtown or going to an event in hotel poor Oak Cliff as we were. We will stay there again when a downtown location is our first priority. « less
