I was attending the Garden State Film Festival and actually arrived a day early and the gentleman at the front door offered to see if they had any rooms for Friday night. But the movie I wanted was on Saturday night. When I arrived on Saturday they remembered me and we laughed about my mistake. In all my years of staying at a hotel, I've never had my luggage taken to my room or my coat hung up for me, what a nice touch! Absolutely loved the octopus side tables in the hallways.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous views of the ocean and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Many extra hidden changes.
I am a repeat customer, as I frequently work in the area this time of year. Even the first time I stayed, however, I was treated and greeted like the frequent guest I would become. Everything is done to accommodate my non tradtional hours and any issue (i. e. a light out or something not functioning,)if any, is dealt with quickly, efficiently and cheerfully. Their customer service is five star! There is a wonderful pool for those days the surf is too rough and you're right across the street from the boardwalk and beach if you prefer and shops are all right there as well. For night owls/workers like me, there is a nice bar and restaurant around the corner,open until two a.m. (kitchen open until midnight.) If you drive down, once your car is parked, you need not drive again until it's time to go. If you're a mass transit person, it is a cheap cab ride from the Asbury Park New Jersey Transit station and not too expensive from the Long Branch station, either.
The room and bathroom were clean, room was nice; the shade and curtains did a great job of blocking outside light and the bed was comfortable.
