"Began as a night school in 1898"

Northeastern University began as a night school in 1898 and catered mostly to the influx of the immigrant population at the time. By 1909 it had become popular enough to add day classes to its schedule. Now it houses over 20,000 students on 8 different campuses with 125 separate certificate and degree programs. It is a private liberal arts university and its main campus is located just west of Boston's famous Symphony Hall on 380 Huntington Avenue.
