"A Spa Retreat in the Center of the City"

This lovely hotel is a fantastic getaway from city life, without having to leave the city. This is a true "urban retreat" that can give city dwellers a breath of fresh air and space. Any group that wants a spa weekend, girls weekend, or perhaps a corporate incentive travel group, would love this hotel. The sleeping rooms and bathrooms are some of the most spacious, bright, airy, and relaxing I have seen. Of course, the hotel's main feature is their sizable spa which offers all standard spa treatments, including facials and laser treatments. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have a lot of meeting space, so this is not the best place to host an event or a serious business meeting (or to bring a bunch of noisy kids). However, they do have a fantastic restaurant/bar called Big Four (also available to the public via a separate street entrance). Unlike the rest of the hotel, the restaurant has a very cool, masculine decor - lots of dark wood, dark green leather chairs, and classic portraits on the wall. They have a piano player every night, and a large private dining rooms that guests can rent out. The hotel has a great location at the top of Nob Hill, which gives their spa deck and sleeping rooms a fantastic view of the city. This also puts them only 3 blocks from Union Square, though you would not guess it walking out of the door. In conclusion, this is a hot destination for relaxation and a great place to escape for a vacation.

Set in one of the city's most storied neighborhoods—known for its grand architecture, leafy parks, and cable car crossings—The Huntington was originally imagined in 1922 by architects Weeks & Day as a luxury apartment building, but opened as a hotel only two years later in 1924. That ageless residential sensibility has been preserved ever since in a stay that feels wholly of the city, just minutes from Union Square, Chinatown, and the Financial District. In its new era, The Huntington reanimates original Georgian architectural elegance with hand-finished details, richly textured furnishings, luminous rooms, and sweeping views from Huntington Park and the city to the Bay. Guests will find familiar favorites in the formidable Big Four restaurant and Nob Hill Spa and a new jewel-box lobby cocktail salon, Arabella's.
