Omni William Penn

The Omni William Penn is located in downtown Pittsburgh; built in 1916 is a beautiful historic facility located just 3 blocks from the Convention center, across the street from the 'T' stop and within walking distance of 30 restaurants. The lobby sets the tone reminisce of colonial history with the woodworking, display of artifacts including the Lawrence Welk Original Bubble. There are 4 dining options on-site: The Tap Room (an English Pub), The Terrance featuring Chef Jacky Francois, The Palm Court (lunch and dinner) and Speak Easy (Tuesday-Sundays) serving prohibition cocktails. High Tea is also served in the lobby Mondays-Saturdays. In 2012, the guest rooms went through a full renovation and now include refrigerators, safes, comp WIFI, bedside table outlets and motion censored LED light in the nightstand. The hotel has 52,000 square feet of flexible meeting space (recently renovated) with an assortment of catering menus to select from. There are 2 ballrooms from the original 1916, The Grand Ballroom is 2-tier with natural lighting and the Urban Ballroom, a historic landmark with original murals, Carrara glass walls and the only ballroom left that was designed by Joseph Urban. All the employees that I encountered were wonderful and would recommend this hotel to either the business or leisure traveler and groups.
