The Toledo center is about the area of Huntington Center Arena and the area of Seagate Convention Center.
To make the most of your visit to Toledo, try to time your trip for late spring. The city and surrounding area offer plenty of outdoor activities, which will be best enjoyed during the warmer spring weather. You can walk or bike at Toledo's Metroparks, visit the Toledo Botanical Garden in full bloom, or go fishing in the Maumee River. Spring is also baseball season, so you can watch the Toledo Mud Hens (a minor league team affiliated with the Detroit Tigers) play.
Other times of year offer their own perks, though. For instance, because September tends to be the least popular month to visit, you may be able to find better rates then. Prices also tend to drop around March. You can visit in October to see the fall foliage or during December for a good chance at a white Christmas. AAA members and seniors save 10 percent off the best available rate, while government and military employees receive government per diem rates. The various Holiday Inn Express locations in the area participate in the IHG Rewards program and offer similar discounts.
If you expand your search to include nearby cities, you will find several high-quality hotels with rooms for less than $100 per night. For instance, the Comfort Inn East sits near I-280 in Oregon, Ohio, with free breakfast and an outdoor pool. The Sleep Inn & Suites (also in Oregon) adds a fitness center to that list of amenities and has an indoor pool. Nearby Perrysburg offers the Comfort Suites Perrysburg-Toledo South and the La Quinta Inn Toledo/Perrysburg, and you can find both a Comfort Inn and a Comfort Inn & Suites in Maumee.
Within Toledo itself, the Ramada Toledo Hotel and Conference Center has a lounge, free breakfast, an indoor pool, and 24-hour fitness facilities, as well as some pet-friendly rooms. The Quality Inn Toledo also offers free breakfast. Depending on the timing of your visit and the discounts available to you, you may also be able to find rooms near or below $100 per night at the Holiday Inn Express North Toledo.
Timing certainly makes a difference when it comes to seasonal weather and attractions in Toledo, but there are many other reasons to visit during specific dates. With a little planning, you can time your trip to coincide with one of the area's annual events — many of which are reason enough by themselves to visit Toledo.
From mid-November through the end of the year, the Toledo Zoo will be decked out in Christmas lights for its annual “Lights Before Christmas.” The crowning attraction of this display is the Big Tree, a Norway Spruce that is around 70 years old, 85 feet tall, and covered in 35,000 lights. In addition to this highly anticipated event, the zoo hosts several other events throughout the year: a Mother's Day brunch, a Cinco de Mayo celebration, a Father's Day BBQ, Night in the Museum, the Feast with the Beasts fundraiser, the Dart Frog Dash 5K, and many more.
Food for Thought hosts an annual fundraiser called Jam City, a gourmet PB&J party where top chefs provide new takes on the classic sandwich. The Greater Toledo Auto Show is held in January, and historic downtown Perrysburg hosts a Winterfest event in February. March brings the Glass City Beer Fest and the Glass City Wine Festival. Foodies might want to visit during Restaurant Week, also in March. You can also enjoy performances by the Toledo Ballet and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra throughout the year, as well as a variety of music, art, and food festivals.

Toledo is a nice town to visit. There's good restaurants and some nightlife. Also the museum and zoo are top notch. The park system is great. Lots of trails for walking/hiking.

I went to Toledo to see the lights at the zoo. I love that zoo. It's very clean. The animals seem very healthy. I probably go there at least once a year and I live in Youngstown, Ohio.

I was raised most of my entire life in Toledo. There is one of the best zoos! The Art Museum is also great. Mud Hens. Many great restaurants.

The Glass Pavilion of the Toledo Museum of Art is terrific and well worth a visit. We look forward to visiting the rest of the museum on a future visit.

Toledo got mixed reviews for my family. There is a lot of construction going on so we understood how disruptive it was downtown. We came for the National YMCA Gymnastic Meet. I will definitely not be doing the opening ceremony again. The baseball game was fun but no one got fed. These are athletes. Plan better if you want to do a big event. Sorry for the rough review.
Easy to travel around. The hotel was very accommodating to our youth group of 70. We reserved 25 rooms and found no issues with any. The hot tub was not working however the swimming pool offered a good release of energy for our guest.
Toledo was a very dirty city with way too much construction. To visit, I would probably never go back to the city. If we have to go for basketball, would be the only reason we would go there.
Beautiful environment with much activity and things to do in the area. The imagination station was fun and the new downtown hockey arena is worth the trip.

Didn't see much of the the city. Came for a 3 day baseball tournament so spent most of our time there. Did have chance to visit the Toledo Zoo and was VERY impressed with it. I will come back to Toledo again to just to see the Zoo Aquarium when it reopens.
