2216 Park Avenue - an address that has always played an important role in the history of Miami Beach. The interesting combination of old-school Miami Beach and contemporary South Beach makes Vintro Hotel & Kitchen the most representative hotel of the Collins Park Neighborhood.
The building was originally opened as the Park Avenue Hotel on July 30th, 1934. During World War 2, the hotel did its part, housing some of the 50,000 troops trained for Air Corps service. After the War, the Park Avenue Hotel added a restaurant and became one of the hot spots for Miami's elite - home of the Bill Jordan's Piano Bar, El Chico discotheque, and Connie Gordon's School of Arts. The hotel later closed for many years until, exactly 80 years to the day from the original building's opening, Vintro brought back the historic charm and opened one of the top hotel destinations in Miami Beach.
Recognizing the value of the design and our neighborhood's heritage, Vintro recalls a stylish past and the fun that went with it. Pieces of Collins Park Neighborhood history can be seen throughout the property - from the creation of the Historic Wall commemorating the properties past, to the replica of the original tile laid on the floors of the common areas, to the menu items before seen at the restaurant - Vintro Hotel & Kitchen is a true honor to the glamorous and honorable history of Miami and its beaches.
This commemoration has led to a number of Historic Preservation Award, including the Best Historic Preservation Award given by the Collins Park Neighborhood Association. Proving once more that Vintro's connection with our neighborhood, creative design, and superb service makes Vintro a winning combination.
