The Atlantic City Aquarium is a fun place to take the family, as well as an interesting place to go if you'd like to escape the bustling environment of the casinos. Located just at the water's edge, the Aquarium is truly an adventure to be enjoyed by kids of all ages. If you are a fan of the Disney movie Finding Nemo, then you will enjoy the clownfish and anemone exhibit that is home to the real inspiration of the title character. Other exhibits include fish of the Amazon River, fish of the Indo-Pacific, and fish of the Mid-Atlantic Ocean, as well as tanks containing live coral, jelly fish, moray eels, and seahorses.While the Aquarium prohibits joining the sea creatures for a swim in their tanks, it does offer two touch exhibits that allow visitors to get up close and personal—if you dare. One tank offers hermit crabs, sea urchins, and starfish while another allows you to reach out and say hello to sharks and stingrays.The Atlantic City Aquarium is easy to get to by car for a day trip and is close to many hotels and other attractions if you are looking to extend your stay on the New Jersey shore.
