The King George Hotel is one of those very rare right place right price hotels in San Francisco. It is only a block away from Union Square, right above
Market Street, a prime location especially for visitors here to see the sites of the city. They are affordable, but still provide excellent service and keep their property fresh and up to date. The King George recently renovated their sleeping rooms with totally new, very charming interiors. These rooms are a bit small but very cozy (and quiet, which is not always the case with other hotels in their location). They also have a mellow bar / lounge downstairs and (while they do not have a restaurant) are able to provide 24 hour room service from a restaurant next door. They are also able to set up a private breakfast, or a meeting of 30 or so in their meeting room, off of the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to groups in full confidence, especially for any travelers who are new to the city and on a budget.
