"Nice room, BUT.."

The room was very clean and comfortable. But the TV did not work. After a long day of driving, we just wanted to watch a bit of TV and wind down. The desk clerk came up and said that a sensor was missing and since the hotel was full we could not change rooms. He offered a small discount on the room. OK, we could deal with that. But we had also put food in the refrigerator, to have an on the road picnic the next day. When packing the next morning, we found that the food (sandwich meat and such) was warm. So it all had to be thrown away. Next morning, when we checked out, no partial refund was possible. The desk clerk just kept saying "no." No TV and ruined food because of a bad refrigerator = a two star review in my book.
