Other than the Y-bridge, you'll find plenty to love about Zanesville if you decide to vacation here. For instance, you'll want to take photographs of the famous basket building, which is a building built to emulate a basket full of fresh apples. It belongs to a basket-making company, unsurprisingly, and serves as one of the most-visited buildings in the city.
In the downtown district, you'll find examples of most architectural styles, which can make a slow stroll even more exciting. Some of the churches have been featured in national magazines for their beauty and longevity, and the Muskingum County Courthouse serves as one of the country's most gorgeous examples of Second Empire Victorian architecture.
Whether you're here for fun, food, or adventure, you'll find it as soon as you arrive in Zanesville. Choose a hotel that matches your budget and your desire for amenities, then book your plane tickets or gas up the car. You won't regret Zanesville as your next vacation destination.
Best Time to Visit Zanesville, OH
Tourist season in Zanesville peaks during the summer months thanks to the balmy weather and abundance of street festivals and other events. However, hotel prices skyrocket during this season, so you'll pay a premium for each night you stay. You'll also have to face crowded streets and entertainment venues, so prepare for long waits in some places and packed restaurants.
Winters serve as the low season, attracting very few tourists because of the extremely low temperature and abundance of snowfall. Since it's not a ski town, and there aren't any other winter sports to captivate travelers, you might want to avoid Zanesville between November and February. However, if you're hoping to take a vacation on a budget, these months offer the best hotel prices, and the city looks beautiful when it's covered in a fresh layer of snow.
The shoulder seasons offer the best of both worlds. In spring and fall, you get great hotel prices, comfortable weather, and low tourist activity. Spring tends to bring more rain to the Zanesville area, so pack an umbrella if you visit between March and May, but otherwise you should have a blast.
