The majority of Brick rests on the mainland with two portions of the township located on the Barnegat Peninsula. Brick was incorporated as a township in 1850 from portions of Howell and the modern-day Toms River Townships. The community was named after Joseph Brick, owner of the Bergen Iron Works. Brick was named “America's Safest City” in 2006 and continues to rank highly for its safety. It has also been ranked on Newsmax magazine's list of “Top 25 Most Uniquely American Cities and Towns.”
Today, Brick is a lovely destination for visitors wanting to explore the Jersey Shore. Whatever your reason for visiting Brick, it's important to find the perfect hotel that allows you to experience everything the region has to offer.
What season is best to visit Brick, NJ?
New Jersey experiences four distinct seasons. The best time to visit is in late spring or early summer, ahead of the tourist season. Average highs range from the low 60s to 70 degrees in April and May. Aside from the pleasant weather, spring also ushers in lower hotel rates.
Of course, fall is another great time to visit since New Jersey experiences changing leaves. You can also take advantage of lower hotel rates after the busy summer season comes to an end. The township frequently hosts street fairs, charitable events, and festivals to bring the community together, so you might encounter a fall festival worth attending. Just be mindful of hurricane season and book refundable hotels and flights to be on the safe side.
Summers in New Jersey are hot and dry, but thanks to Brick's location by the water, you don't have to go far to cool off. Keep in mind, however, that hotel rates are pricey and room book up quickly from June through the end of August, so book your reservations well in advance to secure your room.
Winters in Brick can be cold and unpredictable. During the December 2010 blizzard, the township experienced 30 inches of snow, which was the state's highest accumulation on record. Average lows hover in the mid-20s in January and February, keeping most residents indoors. If you want to take advantage of rock-bottom hotel rates, you're better off planning a winter trip to Brick in November or March to give yourself a better chance at avoiding severe weather.
