The Pompano Beach center is about 2 miles southwest of Pompano Square and 3 miles northeast of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
One of the advantages of vacationing in Florida is there is no bad time to go. The weather is good year round. Pompano Beach, however, is known for its festivals, so you might want to book during one of those so you get the full experience. The Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is held each year in mid-April. During this three-day event, enjoy every type of seafood imaginable at more than 30 food booths.
Every March 17th, Pompano Beach goes green for the St. Patrick's Irish festival. In February, they don red and white instead for the Saint Coleman's Italian celebration. If you really want to enjoy the full flavor of Pompano Beach, build your travel itinerary around one of these local festivals.
Plan your trip around some lucrative discounts offered by hotels in Pompano Beach. Several of the local resorts offer up to 20 percent off for AAA members, including the Beachcomber Resort & Spa. Another luxurious option for less, if you have an AAA card, is the Wyndham Sea Gardens. Located on the beach, the Sea Gardens is within walking distance of the Pompano Municipal Pier and the golf course. The resort features beachside condominiums, so it is a practical choice for groups or families.
Seniors will find that many of the hotels in Pompano Beach give a discount either by cutting the room cost or offering a free amenity like breakfast coupons. You save even more if you are an AARP member. The Sands Harbor Resort and Marina gives seniors more for less. The resort sits near the beach and all the local attractions. Enjoy an outdoor pool, continental breakfast, and poolside bar.
If you are a traveler that likes both amenities and value, then a mid-range hotel is your best option. The Wyndham Palm-Aire is affordable and classy. At the Wyndham Palm, you have your pick of amenities packages. Pay a little more to get a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. For a little less, you can stay in one of the interior rooms and still vacation on the beach. No matter which package you choose, enjoy a free shuttle, access to a full-service spa, and four outdoor pools.
The Residence Inn is a practical choice for families who want to save. It offers apartment-style living on a private beach. Mom and Dad can take advantage of the 24-hour fitness center, and the kids will love swimming in both of the outdoor pools. The Inn is within miles of all the city attractions, including the pier and the Pompano Beach Aquatics Center. Another choice for apartment living is the La Costa Beach Club. Located on its own private beach, La Costa offers condos with sitting rooms and full kitchens. The venue has both an indoor and outdoor pool plus a self-serve laundry room. This is an ideal option for the value seeker with a car or for someone who likes to walk. La Costa is less than a 30-minute stroll from major area attractions.
Once you secure your lodging, the next step is to figure out what to do. You will, of course, want to spend some time enjoying the ocean. It is Florida after all, but there is more to see and do in Pompano Beach than you realize. Spend a day placing bets at the Isle Casino & Racing Park. Not exactly a casino or race track, The Isle offers gaming tables so you can enjoy a little blackjack or poker. There are also live music and fine dining. When you are not playing, dancing, or eating, watch the live racing action during one the many simulcast events. They feature jai-alai games and harness, thoroughbred, and greyhound events at the Isle.
If you prefer shopping to gaming, head over to the world-famous Festival Flea Market Mall on Sample Road. At the Festival, you get the top brands for less, enjoy some good eats, and even sell your own goods if you wish. The Festival features over 500 shops, restaurants, and boutiques, all indoors and offered with an old-world feel. If you prefer to stay outdoors, then do your shopping at the Pompano Citi Centre instead. This is where you find big name stores like Macy's and Ross. It is a good place to grab some dinner and entertainment at the Pompano Beach Arts, where they show movies and host live concerts.
If you are looking for a hidden treasure instead of new clothes, The Sugar Chest Antique Mall is worth a visit. It features everything from 18th Century French collectibles to the latest art glass in a 30,000 square-foot showroom. There's paintings, furniture, pottery, and even fun collectibles like lunch boxes or Barbie dolls. Pick out what you want and ship it home.
Get a better look at the ocean and some local wildlife with a stroll on the Pompano Municipal Pier. It is one of the best-known landmarks in town. You can picnic there and even do your own grilling, all while enjoying a breathtaking view. The pier is clean, and if you travel all the way down to the end, sit down and have a snack at the little restaurant.
Pompano Beach offers some of the best lodging options in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. Whether you want a five-star luxury spa resort, or you are looking to save by staying at a discount hotel, you'll find just what you need in Pompano Beach, plus a little more. Stay in town on the beach, explore the waterway, and then spend your nights partying just a few miles away in Fort Lauderdale.

Convenient location.
The staff is one of the most courteous and helpful people, wanting to be sure your stay is the best and they succeeded! Amanda was so determined to make sure we could be together as a group because it poured and poured. When the bowling association returns, we will too right here.
Pompano Beach is so quaint. It has a lot of choices for places to eat ( The Foundry, Zucharellis, Galuppis, Checkers Old Munchen are among our favorites). There is a beautiful golf course by the Pompano Air Park. You can take flying lessons at South Florida Aircraft Maintenance (ask for Dave Fogarty). There is a Muvico and Regal Cinemas close by. There is even a bowling alley right on Federal Highway. Fun place to visit!!!
The beaches are great. Lots of and dinning and shopping areas.
It is a good location to the places where I do business and visit family members.
Love the golf courses. I am buying in Wynmoor. Only down side to Pompano Beach/Broward county I have found are the very high insurance rates.
