Collegeville, Pennsylvania, is a suburb of Philadelphia on scenic Perkiomen Creek. The town incorporated in Montgomery County in 1896. It was originally named Perkiomen Bridge before becoming known as Freeland. Pennypacker Mills is a Colonial Revival mansion on 170 acres in Perkiomen Township on Perkiomen Creek. It's about 35 miles outside of Philadelphia and a short 10-minute drive from Collegeville. The home of early 20th-century Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker features his collections of historically significant antiques and artifacts. He had an interest in German and Dutch Settlers, early Pennsylvania, the Civil and Revolutionary Wars, and Native Americans. The collection also includes Pennypacker's genealogical papers documenting his ancestry and his career in the military.

Another great place to visit in Collegeville is The Philip & Muriel Berman Museum of Art.
