Best Time to Visit Saint Joseph, MO
Saint Joseph enjoys four distinct seasons, with summers and winters bringing extreme temperatures at opposite ends of the spectrum. Highs in the summer, for instance, often exceed 90 degrees, but that doesn't stop tourists from arriving in droves. With the kids out of school and the sun shining brightly, many people prefer to visit between May and August thanks to the abundant outdoor activities in this city. However, you'll have to settle for high hotel prices and large crowds wherever you go, so you might consider skipping the summer if you're on a budget or if you're hoping to relax.
Fall and spring offer far more attractive options. The tourist rates decline sharply during both seasons, which means hotel prices become more affordable. In autumn, you'll see the trees change color and feel the first crisp breezes of fall. The more tolerable temperatures might encourage you to get outdoors more often. The same goes for springtime, though allergy sufferers might want to reconsider. Additionally, precipitation increases in spring, which could ruin your cycling or other outdoor plans.
Winters get extremely cold in Saint Joseph, with lows dipping into the teens on a regular basis. Though hotel rates become attractive between November and February, you'll have to stay indoors for most of your trip.
