Disappointed that I got booked by a third party that cost about $200 more than the rack rate. There was no indication anywhere that a third party was involved and all correspondence I had only had Marriott's name on it. I feel ripped off and likely won't stay at a Marriott again.

I rate this hotel 'very good' due to its excellent location adjacent and right next to Mayo Jacksonville; its excellent staff; its on site restaurant; and large, clean rooms. The hotel is pricy and shows its age, but IMO you are paying for convenience to Mayo Jacksonville (literally across the street) and not a luxuriously appointed hotel and for that need, it fills the bill. The rooms seem to get a lot of use due to the proximity to Mayo Jacksonville (a four minute walk) and show it. For example, the electrical outlets for recharging devices were all loose in my room due to heavy use and the room was a bit 'beat up', but I must say, it was quite clean. The air conditioning was very strong and the TV very large and as stated, the room was pretty large. with two beds, although the bathtub was oddly fairly shallow. All hotel staff were very professional, helpful and friendly and security seemed fine with ample parking, near all entrances that were 'key card' controlled. The on site restaurant is very handy for those hunkering down during a Mayo visit. It has a limited but adequate breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with Starbucks coffee, plus there is a limited snack bar concession. If you are staying overnight for a Mayo procedure and don't want to drive around in Jacksonville traffic, at all hours of the day for your 'off site' hotel and don't mind a very limited restaurant menu, this place should fit the bill well, if you can handle the cost (and taxes).
