With a rich and colorful history, the story of this hotel began when the tract of land was purchased in 1909 to build an elegant residence hotel. The property flourished through the roaring 20's, survived the Great Depression of the 30's, and was restored and revived again by some of San Antonio's most prominent families. Hotel Havana's latest renovation came by way of renowned Texas architecture firm Lake|Flato and was reopened in 2010 by hotelier Liz Lambert and Bunkhouse Group. The property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has been voted one of the nation's best hotels by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Southern Living and Budget Travel Magazine. From the studios to the Penthouse Suite, each of the 27 rooms at Hotel Havana is uniquely appointed and designed for comfort. All rooms feature original Bastrop pine floors and are decorated with antique furniture, Turkish rugs and vintage Cuban artwork.
