We actually spent most of our time at the Fireman's Memorial in Roscommon.
Found Grayling to be a nice small town. The restaurant next door to the Days Inn is handy with good food. Further northwest on 72 is a nice, homey place for breakfast/lunch called Westside Diner. Family Fare is a good place for groceries.
Just passing through and this was a good place to stop for the night.
I always try to make it up to the Canoe Race Weekend. What a great tradition!
Shell Haven raft rentals down the river was a blast!

Grayling is great! Plenty of things to do in the winter and summertime. Plenty of food stores, restaurants, merchandise and general shopping and necessity stores. The local trailheads and the cities allowance for riding your sleds from local shops and stores to and from trails is awesome! Most people are friendly as well.
Nice town, decorated for Winter/Christmas and many of the shops were open. Town was clean and people were friendly.
