Jenks dates back to 1904 when it was first established by the Midland Valley Railroad. It was mapped out the following year, ultimately leading to the discovery of the Glenn Pool oil well. As news of oil spread, more and more people traveled to Jenks in an effort to stake their own claim. The economy grew around these tank farms, but it didn't last long. After oil production fell out of favor, the people of Jenks adopted a more agrarian lifestyle until manufacturing industries came into town providing much needed work for its increasing population.
Today, Jenks is home to many businesses both large and small. You'll find plenty of locally owned shops on the town square along with major production facilities for companies such as the Kimberly Clark Corporation. Jenks is the headquarters of First Oklahoma Bank, and its growth is only continuing to increase. With such a booming economy and appealing list of attractions, it's no wonder more and more people are visiting Jenks every year. If you want to get in on this atmosphere yourself, you'll have to find a hotel that can offer you the best experience in Jenks.
