Best Time to Visit Concord, NC
The weather in Concord is fairly temperate in the winter, with lows around 29 degrees F and highs reaching about 50 degrees F. Summers in North Carolina are hot and humid with highs averaging 88 in July and August but sometimes reaching over 100 degrees F. In spite of this, the most visitors come to the state during this time of year, driving up the price of hotel rooms. The best time of year to visit is during the shoulder seasons of spring and fall when temperatures reach the mid-60s and 70s during the day and dip to about 40 at night.
Concord is known for its rainfall, but the months of April and May are the driest, making this a great time to visit. The high temperatures are in the low to mid-70s, so it's warm but not too hot, and you can enjoy the outdoors. Rainfall in summer is heavy but less frequent than winter. If you want to avoid premium hotel prices, don't go during NASCAR race weekends at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. If that's the purpose of your visit, reserving your room months in advance can save you money.

Enjoy the Thrill of NASCAR in Concord, NC
Though there are many reasons to visit Concord, the best is to experience NASCAR up close and personal. At the Charlotte Motor Speedway, just minutes from Concord hotels, you'll find NASCAR events throughout the year. With three tracks — a dirt track, smaller raceway, and 1.5-mile speedway — you can choose from a variety of races. Buy your tickets early, so you don't miss out on great seats inside the speedway.
Parking is free and there are free trams to shuttle you to the entrances. You can bring your own cooler, but it must be less than 14 inches with no glass containers. It's very loud, so bring ear plugs or noise canceling headphones. There is a lot to do before the race, especially if you're bringing the kids along, so plan to get to the speedway early.
The experience doesn't end at the track. Head to the NASCAR Racing Experience where you can drive real race cars and feel the thrill of being a true driver. If that's not enough, in Charlotte, just 20 miles away, is the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Here you can learn how NASCAR teams prepare for races, watch a race at the High Octane Theater, and get the perfect souvenirs for any die-hard fan at the gift shop.

We only got to go to the mall at night, and ate at the "V" restaurant, the next day snow kept us all in the hotel. I would recommend bringing all the board games back, or play bingo! You have to occupy the people, only so many can get in the gym and pool in winter. A lot of kids were their! Way to go parents & staff.....

The many choices of restaurants and venues. As my first visit, getting around in the city was complicated, especially since I was a newcomer. I became acclimated by the second day with the help of an app that provided directions. There were a number of restaurants in the area. I did not visit the city area, but it could be seen upon leaving the motel.
