Verified Reviews of Clipper Ship Inn

Below are the verified reviews from guests that we have booked recently:
"Should have heeded warnings of other reviews."
Overall Score2.0/ 5
This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. I am giving it two stars only because I feel it would be unreasonable to give 1, as it met the bare requirements of having a reasonably safe bed. The service was, as others have stated, cold at best. The front office perpetually had a sign up saying they were "out, please call if you need assistance," and when you called the number, they begrudgingly would say that they were coming up, would unlock the door for you and say "why are you here?" — again, as others have stated. This hotel does not even have fitted sheets, but rather puts a second top sheet down, which pulls off when you open your covers. There are constant gnats in the room. The WiFi has a poor signal and your device will notify you that it has "weak security." This place can clearly get away with not trying very hard because of their touristy location there will always be a clientele. As for the vibe of the room, think first season Schitt's Creek. Arriving back late on my first of two nights, I was welcomed by a note on my door saying "Jim," (not my name, they just took the liberty of giving me a nickname), "I will call at about 9 am. Need to move you to the room above due to unforeseen circumstances." I woke up at 8:30 to be awake for the call, which never came. I would very much like my sleeping in morning back. I shudder to think what the unforeseen circumstances were. Again, two stars only because there was nothing "wrong," per se, in the sense that there was nothing you could complain about that it would do any good to complain about.

"Horrible rude staff."
Overall Score1.0/ 5
Horrible experience. They lady at the front desk was very rude and asked me why I was there. You can't ask a guest why they're checkin in a hotel. They rooms are comfortable but the workers are terrible. Never again going back to that hotel.

"Motel better on outside then inside."
Overall Score2.0/ 5
Set up for one person re soaps etc. very out of date. Air conditioner did not cool room down at all. Bottom sheets loose and pulled out right away. Outside looks better than inside. However, was clean and quiet. Staff friendly. Not worth it's cost. Would not book on line again as it presents place in different light. Reviews were around 3.5. Should have been a 2.

"Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely use your site in the future. This was my first time setting up a conference for a government agency so I have learned a lot. By having the hotels bid for business or at least advise if they could accommodate was a HUGE time saver. I started by throwing darts at hotels in certain locations and cold calling them before I found your website! I really appreciate yours and the teams help." C.B. - Denver, CO
