Brookside Resort is 'city close, yet country quiet' as they say. This is a great and accurate description too. When staying at this property, you are still close enough to all the action of Gatlinburg to walk, but you have the illusion of being secluded in a rustic mountain lodge by the river. All rooms have balconies over the Roaring Fork River – great for unwinding after a busy day or waking up to morning coffee. There is so much nostalgia in this hotel. It was built for the Knoxville World's Fair, and you can almost feel the liveliness of a time past in the walls of the property. At night, you can walk along the pathway running beside the river, cross the river on some of the pedestrian bridges (great photo opps), or meander into the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. You will get a complimentary breakfast each morning, and all staff are happy and service oriented. If your room has a fireplace, the hotel provides everything you need to operate it such as paper, matches, kindling, and firewood. Feeling a bit playful? There is an onsite basketball court and shuffleboard area. You can also take a dip in the pool or let the kids play on the new playground. My final thought is on the ballroom of this location. Absolutely stunning. A large, beautiful space, with huge windows over the river, and a balcony as well. There is also a large, grand fireplace and the entire space is crowned with a beautiful chandelier. If you are having an event in Gatlinburg, you want this space. The hotel has also teamed up with a local catering company to provide Food and Beverage options to guests wishing to offer these with their event. In closing, any group would be a great fit for this location. If you are looking for super modern and chic, then you may not fully enjoy the hotel. If you are looking for excellent rates, clean accommodations, friendly staff, and a sense of rustic nostalgia (and who isn't when they go to the mountains of East Tennessee?) then this hotel will meet every expectation and whim you could ever have.

The balcony over the brook was wonderful. I was disappointed that there was not an elevator as it was difficult dragging my heavy suitcase up the ramp. There was only one wastebasket for the room and no clothes hangers in the closet. But overall we enjoyed it. I would probably stay here again.

Room was comfortable and scenic. The room had a lovely brook right outside the back door. There was several inches of snow on the ground and it was five degrees outside. The room was never cold and stayed toasty warm our whole stay.

Staff was very nice. The room was clean. We chose this hotel because the room had a fireplace. It is a wood burning fireplace, not gas logs. Be sure to ask staff how to get firewood. Will stay there again.

We offer over 100 guest rooms ranging in style from our pet-friendly Creekside rooms with two double beds to elegant Romantic Suites in the Tower's. The newly built, 3200 square foot Event Center offers state-of-the-art media and projection facilities and is available for your group's needs and entertainment.At the Resort, every room is “streamside”. Private balconies and patios overlook the Roaring Fork Creek as it tumbles downstream from the National Park. The sounds of the cascading Roaring Fork will relax and lull you to sleep. Our comfy, pillow-top beds also provide a wonderful, rejuvenating night's sleep. Typical room amenities include Cable TV, radio alarm clocks, microwaves/refrigerators, private bathroom, in-room coffee, irons & ironing boards, and hair dryers. Two-man whirlpool tubs, kitchenettes, two-room suites and an old-fashioned wood-burning fireplace are available upon request.
