The Old Seed House Garden is a nearly 2-acre civic garden honoring the legacy of the Dominion Seed House, a business that introduced many locals to the joys of gardening. It's open all year round, but it arguably looks its best in spring, when hundreds of tulips and daffodils create a colorful display. Make sure you stop to reflect at the sunken garden, the site of the original Dominion Seed House.
Scotsdale Farm is so beautiful that it was used as a filming location for The Recruit, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and the TV series Orphan Black. The 531-acre property has stunning rolling hills, lush woodlands, and abundant wildlife. The fiery colors of fall are truly spectacular. Hikers, horse riders, and leashed dogs are always welcome.
Although the Limehouse Conservation Area only offers 3 miles of trails, you shouldn't underestimate this area. It's stunningly beautiful, with babbling brooks and dramatic limestone kilns and ruins from the 1800s. Hiking here is challenging, with rocky crevices and ladders upping the degree of difficulty, but visitors insist it's worth the effort.
For a more leisurely walk, head to Hungry Hollow Trail. It runs along the Silver Creek portion of the Credit River, from south of Georgetown towards Norval. Signs along the way will teach you about the local plants and animals you might see on your journey.
