We enjoyed the amazing historical sites and the personable southern hospitality. Local citizens eagerly answered our questions, addressed our concerns and engaged us in general conversations. We felt welcomed. Revitalizing construction in the downtown Birmingham city hindered our travels somewhat but we were able to navigate our destinations and attend all events.

We went to a convention at the BJCC. My wallet was lost. It was found, turned in to an employee. She supposedly turned it in, but my wallet was no where to be found. I had to file a police report. Other than that incident the stay was good.

Easy to find venues for Senior Games. Athletic parks very nice facilities. Highway patrol not very nice. We were there from NC and were trying to get in left lane to find the right intersection to turn left, because not familiar with area. Pulled us for going 41mph in a 55mph when we were coming to a stoplight.
