Take in Auburn's natural beauty during your stay by hiking the town's new Pakachoag Hiking Trail, which clocks in just under a mile in length. It's a strenuous walk that's worth the hike through the marshy wetlands, taking you to a serene picnic area. Kids can also run out their energy (or sled in the wintertime) at Lemansky Park's Rocketland Playground. The name is an ode to the first liquid-propelled rocket ever fired — an innovation pioneered by Auburn's own Dr. Robert H. Goddard.Nearby Lake Quinsigamond also draws visitors to take in its regattas, sun on its beaches, or go boating in the summer. Davis Farmland Discovery Farm is a fun destination for families, with its interactive exhibits and water park. The EcoTarium in nearby Worcester draws families to experience three floors of interactive science exhibits, a perfect activity for snowy and rainy days.Despite its small size, Auburn is easy to access, as the town is situated near the intersections of I-290, I-90, I-395, and Routes 12 and 20. Auburn is convenient to nearby Worcester, where you'll find several major universities. It's also not far from Boston, and it makes a logical stopover for travelers heading to Boston Red Sox games or other events in the city. Easy access and a low cost of living have attracted business and industry back to the Auburn region, which strikes a perfect balance between small-town charm and a vibrant, livable community.
Those who like to travel and take in the changing of the leaves will love Auburn in the fall. The seasonal rich, golden display makes this town a vision in autumn. Massachusetts is known for its snowy, cold winters, and Auburn is no exception. If you need to travel to Auburn during the winter and over the holidays, first look at the weather forecast and account for any winter storms that might affect your travel plans. The snow, however, does make for a beautiful white Christmas. If you're traveling for business, there's no bad time to visit Auburn. Because the area's hotels don't necessarily experience peak times, their prices tend to remain constant throughout the year, except perhaps in early August, when the Bolton Fair takes place at Lancaster Fairgrounds. This old-fashioned fair features lumberjack shows, oxen pulls, and carnival food that will make you feel like you're in a classic movie. Meanwhile, modern events such as a monster truck show, demolition derby, live music, and beer garden attract younger attendees. The annual fair is a favorite regional event that does fill up the hotels, so plan ahead if you'd like to attend. You might find that hotel prices increase over holidays such as Easter or Christmas. Rates might also increase during graduation season for the nearby high school and colleges, such as the College of the Holy Cross in nearby Worcester, because there aren't many hotels in this small town and demand might exceed availability.

Auburn's greatest claim to fame is as the launch site of the first liquid propelled rocket — a world first that took place in 1926. Dr. Robert H. Goddard chose a hilltop in this quiet New England town for his historic launch, and the world hasn't been the same. Dr. Goddard is known as the father of modern space flight, as his work laid the foundations for rocket technology that thrust astronauts into space. The original launched rocket reached an altitude of more than 40 feet.In Auburn, you'll spot nods to his achievement around town at Lemansky Park, where kids clamber over the Rocketland Playground. Nearby you can check out the memorial and reproduction of his original rocket. If you want to see the original launch site of Dr. Goddard's rocket, you'll need to head over to Pakachoag Golf Course. Originally a working farm, the launch site lies near the golf clubhouse, while the landing site is near the 9th hole between the tee and the green. Two plaques commemorate these sites, which are both registered as National Historic Landmarks. Just be aware that the golf course is actively used, so keep your eyes peeled or flying golf balls while you're on the green.Immerse yourself in Auburn's charm and history with a stay in this quaint town. To make the most of your visit, choose the perfect hotel for your budget and needs, either right in town or in neighboring Worcester.

Auburn has great stores and restaurants!
Auburn offers reasonable hotels yet easy highway access to all points. Several nearby restaurants and shopping
Food venues are plentiful close by, delivery is also an option. Didn't see any of the Town of Auburn so I can't comment. The highways are nearby though there is no noise to disrupt the evening.
