Because the San Jacinto Valley has just recently become a tourist spot in California, you won't have to deal with the crowds that other parts of California see. However, Hemet and the rest of the valley are improving arts, entertainment, and business to attract more tourists. You'll get to visit this part of California before it becomes a serious tourist trap, but still benefit from economic efforts to bring more people to the city.

When to Visit Hemet, California

San Jacinto Valley has been a snowbird destination for decades. The average highs in December, January, and February are in the 60s, and November and March have highs in the 70s. If you're looking for a spot to escape the cold that isn't Florida or Los Angeles, Hemet is a great choice.

Summer in Hemet is hot and temperatures often approach 100, so it's not the most ideal time to go. However, there's barely any precipitation which means the air is dry. Without humidity, those temperatures are far more bearable. If you're from somewhere like Florida or Louisiana, you'll be able to handle Hemet's summer just fine.

Keep in mind that the nights get cold in Hemet, even in the summer. Pack pants and jackets in case you want to take a nighttime stroll or plan on going out on the town. You can't really deal with California weather without a diverse wardrobe, anyway!

Hemet doesn't have hotels with the five-star luxury you'll find in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Instead, expect a quietly upscale stay at a well-maintained property with good amenities. You can also head to Temecula down I-215 for a resort experience.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Hemet is a downtown hotel that offers suites featuring separate sitting areas with refrigerators and microwaves. A circular hot tub sits next to the pool, inviting you to relax your muscles in the water.

In the fitness area, you can use cardio machines or lift weights, depending on your preference. The breakfast and coffee service is spacious, with waffle making stations and lots of other delicious options. The lobby itself has a vaulted ceiling featuring a balcony and ceiling fans. You'll find a large snack bar, complete with healthy and sweet treats, microwave food, and a variety of drinks. Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking are all free.

Temecula is about 29 miles from Hemet, and there you'll find the four-star South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. This gorgeous property takes subtle cues from villas, and the decor tastefully mixes classic and modern. Each room boasts a fireplace, plus Egyptian cotton linens and down comforters. Rooms all have either a private patio or balcony. Deep soaking tubs and separate showers allow you to relax and get clean any way you like.

Verified reviews of the city of Hemet

Below are reviews of the city of Hemet, CA from an actual visitor's perspective.

"Nice Small Town"
Score 5.0 / 5

Hemet seems to be a nice small town with a lot of nice places to eat that we were familiar with. We also spent a good deal of time in the Hemet Bowling Alley and also we went to the Soboba Indian Casino. I look forward to playing softball in Hemet in the future. Unfortunately we were rained out, but my teammates raved about the Softball/baseball facilities in Hemet they are rated top notch.
