Don't forget to check out the boatyard. You see it on your way into town, and while it is an industrial area, it's worth parking in there and taking a walk around, all the boats hauled out are quite a sight.
Port Townsend is a really nice, calming place to be. The architecture is awesome and if you like wildlife, just drive around and enjoy the deer! I'm originally from SeaTac but have lived in the Dallas Tx area now and go to Port Townsend every year for the last few years.
Quant preserved 19th century buildings
Port Townsend is a quaint little town on the water with lots of shops and restaurants to check out. Walking around by the water makes the town a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the PNW.
Great downtown and everyone was friendly.
Townsend is a small charming place with lots of interesting galleries and shops. There are several great spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Bookstore, Port Townsend Art Gallery (a cooperative of several local artists, esp. photographer and bird walk source-Beverley McNeil). Point Hudson Cafe, excellent breakfasts, Fountain Cafe -great food and people!
We took day trips to Fort Flagler and Fort Worden, farmers market, and enjoyed live music at Port Townsend Brewery on Friday night.
Lunch at Sirens Pub was outstanding. Lots of places to browse in. The Bell Tower and its history were very interesting.
Great place to have a wedding!
