'At times, it's easy to just say 'I'm done!' and hang up the boots. It takes special courage to go through the drill and come through “ it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's just a matter of if you have it in you to see things through!,
Oliver Wolcott, the founder-in-chief of Wolcott, Connecticut, thus spoke at an event, in a bid to rouse some spirit in his fellow farmers and landowners, as a particularly bad spell of thaw wiped out crops from their farms in 1780's.
Wolcott the man was himself responsible to bring the town “ it was known as Farmingbury back then “ up on its feet and instil some much needed spirit of confidence in people, many of whom had just abandoned their homes in Europe in search of better life in America.
That spirit of exploration, survival and growth still lingers large in the hearts and souls of people who reside here, making Wolcott a truly great tourism destination. But despite all this heritage, it is strange to note that Wolcott “as a town “ has always found itself short of finding its true heights in tourism. Instead, it has forever been bundled into the 'Connecticut' package, or even worse, as a part of Hartford's outskirts sightseeing.
So, aiming to change that fact a little bit in a bid to bring some tourism glory back to Wolcott (which the town so richly deserves), we are excited to present this guide to tourism, sightseeing, food, weather and hotels in Wolcott for our travel enthusiast readers!

Independent and Boutique Hotels in Wolcott
Quite clearly, this category is the most dominant one in Wolcott, given the lack of resources city has in order to host large resorts or many lodges. So, holiday rentals and summer houses account for the biggest chunk of tourist-hosting, making them quite popular with incoming visitors, too.
Independent and boutique lodging options are usually considered to be viable “ convenience-wise and economy-wise “ only if the duration of the stay is going to exceed a few weeks. In that scenario, the whole idea comes to life with budgeted stay and home-like stay experience.
If you are a business traveler, however, you need to also look at some other options. Traditionally, business travelers have chosen to stay at independent suites, rather than resorts. So, finding such suites should be at the top of your priority list, while forging plans of visiting Wolcott.
But then again, being a small town, Wolcott has serious infrastructure void that leads to a lack of options like suites and service apartments.
