Edgewood also has plenty of local charm. The unincorporated community is home to museums and historic areas such as Jerusalem Mill Village and Harford Glen Park, and you can enjoy some time outdoors at Hammerman Area Beach, Eastern Regional Park, Stoney Demonstration Forest, or Mariner Point Park. For some family fun indoors, plan a trip to Great Escapes Harford or nearby Bounce Party N Play.
The Edgewood community stands on land that once belonged to the Susquehannock natives. In the 1600s, Captain John Smith set out to explore the Chesapeake Bay area and personally named Bush River. More recently, Edgewood served as an agricultural community until World War I, when the land was used to develop and test chemical weapons. You can learn more about this history at the local museums and by visiting some of the landmarks, such as Fort McHenry, in nearby Baltimore.

If you're interested in visiting nearby Baltimore, your best bet for pleasant weather if from June to August. Remember to plan for some heat and humidity when you set out to explore the city.
To enjoy some warm weather and avoid thick crowds, visit Edgewood and go to Baltimore from April to May or from September to October. The weather hovers around a pleasant 65-75 degrees during these brief periods.
If you visit from September to November, you'll have to contend with average lows in the 40s. This is too chilly for watersports and some outdoor activities, but you'll still have lots of fun exploring the community and nearby large cities.
