I don't know that much about the City of Emeryville other than the food court on Christy Street. They have a wide variety of food choices.
The water; walk out of the hotel and you can sit on the benches and meditate.

The ability to easily walk to wherever we were headed. The Public Market made for a good late night meal after we checked in.
The view of the bay was lovely and the staff was friendly and the shopping was easily accessible.
Arrived via Amtrak. Hotel was close by, bus service was close by, 76 Food Mart was close by, etc. Very convenient!!!!!!
