I loved the lake with the bridges over it, I loved all the old Victorian houses, and the diner next to Asbury Lanes was phenomenal. I took a short walk on the boardwalk which did not seem commercial which appealed to me. I usually go to Longport which is not commercial at all which I appreciate. But it really doesn't have any old architecture. So I do appreciate what old architecture I did see.
The boardwalk and its shops and restaurants are the best for enjoying every aspect of Summer, and there are bars/restaurants that stay open late enough for a night owl like me within walking distance.

For starters, the ocean and beautiful beach! Access to wonderful food and drink right there. It's safe to take a late night stroll and I love the keen awareness of so many aspects of the area's history and culture fully in display everywhere. I also love all the public art displayed in spaces that otherwise might be eyesores.
