Liberty Station is a 361-acre (1.46 km2) project that involves the conversion of San Diego, California's former Naval Training Center into a mixed-use community that includes several distinct districts. The Naval Training Center site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and many of the individual structures are designated as historic by the city of San Diego.
The development is located in the Point Loma community of San DIego. It has a waterfront location, on a boat channel off of San Diego Bay, just west of the San Diego Airport and a few miles north of Downtown San Diego. Dozens of the historical buildings are being adapted for stores, offices, schools, and other purposes.
The project started when the Navy announced in 1993 that it was closing its training center. The City created a 27 member commission to determine what to do with the site, then created a detailed plan that served as the basis for a request for quotation from a master developer. The Corky McMillin Company was selected as the master developer and began work when the base closed in 1997.

This Inn was built in 1910 but was completely renovated with all modern amentities. It's perfect for weddings, familys, groups because of the grandeur of the archetecture and warmth of the interior. Entertaining is just like being in someone's home with many differnt places to gather. The main Lobby with it's huge windows and comfy feel is a great living space adjacent to one of the main hallways which is wide with chairs perfect for the reader or the laptop user. The upstairs Hall way doubles as our banquet hall when needed with an easy set up from the staff. We have two outdoor courtyards. One in the back has a fountain and cafe tables and I have catered up to 45 in this space.
The front courtyard is a little more intimate with large palm trees and a great staircase coming through it up to the main hallway and this is the only place we allow smoking. Each room is unique in decor and most differ in style and amenities. 7 of the rooms can be European shared bath style or adjoining suites.
