If you enjoy skiing, winter is a great time to visit Santa Fe. It's only a short drive to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, an excellent place to ski between December and February. The old Railyard is a big attraction and the reason we were in town, this time an event at Site Santa Fe.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean. Everyone I met was happy to help me with directions or recommendations for local businesses. They made me feel like I belonged there.

The downtown is lovely and there are a lot of shops and places to eat. We had my birthday dinner at Rio Chama restaurant and the food and atmosphere were perfect. There are so many art galleries and we loved the history, the buildings, the style and the general 'vibe' of Santa Fe.

Santa Fe is safe, walkable, and full of art and history. The museums are high end yet down to earth. The locals are friendly to visitors. The hiking is first rate and the views are breathtaking. Santa Fe is a dog friendly city and many restaurants welcome your pets. Window shopping is my favorite thing to do.
