The Springfield center point is about the area of Missouri State University and the area of JQH Arena - Missouri State University.
Springfield has a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. During the summer months, the humidity levels can get very high, although the temperature rarely rises above 100 degrees. In 2007, the city earned a spot in a Forbes Magazine article that highlighted cities in America with the wildest weather. In this article, it was determined that Springfield has the most varied weather in the United States.
When visiting a city with such drastic shifts in climate, it's tough to know what to bring or when to go. Since you can't know exactly what the weather will be like during a trip, be sure to bring layers to stay warm in case it gets cold. The summer months tend to be warm and humid, causing residents to take vacations away from the area, so hotel prices tend to drop a bit during that time. If you can brave the cold, head to Springfield in the winter to enjoy lower hotel rates.
