Hill country is a wonderful area to visit. So many things to do and see. Great restaurants, Loops to drive, wineries to visit.
The city is beautiful. It's my wife's hometown. We plan to move to the area next spring/summer. The hill country will not disappoint you.

We loved The Coming King Prayer Garden. We were supposed to see a play at the theater but that was cancelled d/t illness if one of the actors. The Trail Boss Restaurant and the Lake House were excellent, atmosphere,food, service and pricing. Cracker Barrel was good as well, our waitress served us well and was friendly and helpful. We liked that it was close to Fredricksburg. Which has good shopping and the guys really liked the Nimmets(spelling?) Aviation Museum.
Same size as my home town. Lots of things to do. Very friendly and helpful residents.

I come to Kerrville every year for a music festival. They have great restaurants, a wonderful HEB grocery store, and many good laundromats. Those are the places I need when camping.

I had a delicious steak dinner at 5D Steakhouse as well as Cracker Barrel, with both being within walking distance. Dutch Bros is immediately across the main drag while Starbucks is across from 5D. I mostly stayed in my room.
There is a lot to do and places to eat there.
Everything is right on the same street where I shop!
