The American Ballet Theatre (ABT) is devoted to bringing the best of dance to New York audiences at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET). Running for eight weeks on an annual basis at the MET, the classical ballet company then tours the world for the rest of the year. Mikhail Mordkin, a former member of the Russian ballet who defected from the Soviet Union in 1924, founded the company in 1937.
