It is well known for its recreational opportunities, such as biking, tennis, swimming, golf, and horseback riding, along with its cultural and arts scene. For fans of mid-century modern architecture, the area is certainly worth a visit.
When is the best time of year to visit Desert Hot Springs, California?
With a pleasant climate during much of the year, Desert Hot Springs attracts many tourists. During the summer months, it does get quite hot because of its desert location. With highs in the 100-degree range during June, July, August, and even September, this area is less visited during these months. If you're willing to brave the heat, you may be able to get a lower hotel rate in the summer and early fall.
Desert Hot Springs is also popular among snowbirds who live in colder areas of the state and want to enjoy a warmer winter each year. The average lows during the winter season fall between 40 and 50 degrees, while the highs are in the 60s and 70s.
Several events take place in nearby Palm Springs every year, which can also impact hotel rates. These include the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the circuit White Party in April, a Black History Month parade and town fair in February, and the Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival in May.
