Of course, the togetherness these events facilitate doesn't end after the party's over. Ypsi locals have fostered a small-town feel in this city, smiling at one another when they pass on the street and chatting at the local greasy spoons over plates of eggs or macaroni and cheese. Though it's technically a college town, hosting a campus of Eastern Michigan University, you won't have to worry about wild college kids running the streets at night.
If you're looking for a laid-back and culture-rich destination for your next vacation, consider Ypsilanti. You'll find plenty of great hotels and nearby attractions to suit your itinerary.
Best Time to Visit Ypsilanti, MI
If you're interested in the festivals mentioned above, consider visiting Ypsilanti between May and September. The festival season brings lots of events as well as live music, great food, and family-friendly activities. The summers bring warm weather and very little precipitation, but you might pay a few extra dollars for your hotel room during these months. Plus, you'll want to book your hotel early since local accommodations fill up fast.
Try to avoid vacations in Ypsilanti during winter. You might face snow storms, heavy ice, and uncomfortably cold temperatures. The poor weather will restrict your outdoor entertainment options, and the airports might have to shut down during inclement weather. For cooler temperatures, consider visiting during the fall. The autumn color changes will add even more charm to this quaint destination.
