Quieter than we expected on a Monday. It's still a nice capital city.
Bridge Rd Vandalia festival Capitol
Loved the Festival activities downtown and Taylors Books visited over the weekend.
We was in town for a wedding so didn't really do anything extra.

The city of Charleston West Virginia is quaint, clean, free of graffiti and very small and quiet. The air is fresh and sweet. The food at The First Watch restaurant was delicious, especially the grits! The hospitality had that classic southern charm. The city was surrounded by these beautiful Appalachian mountains. The airport was tiny and noncumbersome. It seemed everyone had 2-3 jobs. I enjoyed Charleston West Virginia.
The area is beautiful. It's our stopping point from Wis. to NC

We enjoyed the State Capitol Tour, the State Museum, downtown Charleston and the State Parks nearby.

Being from out of town we found places to eat close to the hotel. Stayed on the main strip so it was no problem of getting back.

My interactions with the locals were friendly and I had a great meal at Crab House. If I return, I will stay at your hotel and take in the sights/activities.

We did not venture into much of downtown as we were passing through, but driving out of town the downtown area was cute, approachable, and clean. Neat shops available to walk through.

Little Creek Park
I was there for the West Virginia Senior Sports Classic and the town seemed very pleasant. I didn't really get a chance to look around much but what I saw of it seemed quite nice
We visited the World Scout Museum and enjoyed that and the nearby Outback was a godsend.

It was a couple of blocks from the Memorial Field House where my daughter needed to be for a dance competition. We parked the car and left it at the hotel and walked back and forth. Very convenient
