American Chemical SocietyThe American Chemical Society (ACS) is the world's largest scientific society. Boasting over 150,000 members, ACS is a non-profit organization chartered by congress. Members include chemists, chemical engineers, and those in other related fields. The functions of the organization are vast. Among them include but are not limited to publishing scientific journals and databases, educating the public and policy makers on the importance of chemistry, and granting over $20M annually to research in petroleum.
In March 2012, ACS will be coming to San Diego to convene the 243rd ACS National Meeting & Exposition.
